National Service Scheme, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Govt. of India, popularly known as NSS was launched in Gandhiji's Birth Centenary Year 1969, in 37 Universities involving 40,000 students with primary focus on the development of personality of students through community service. Today, NSS has more than 3.2 million student volunteers on its roll spread over 298 Universities and 42 (+2) Senior Secondary Councils and Directorate of Vocational Education all over the country. From its inception, more than 3.75 crores students from Universities, Colleges and Institutions of higher learning have benefited from the NSS activities, as student volunteers.

AIMS OF N.S.S.

To develop a national consciousness among the youth.
To generate social awareness among the students.
To promote the dignity of labor among the educated.
To strengthen the spirit of service and sacrifice in the younger generation.

 

Goal of N.S.S

Education through community service and community services through education.
Over all object of NSS Development of students’ personality through community service.


CREDIT ELIGIBILITY :
120 hours of service in two academic years or Special camping programme for Seven days.Participation in National level or State level camps.

Regular activities.
Special Camp (7 days)

REGULAR PROJECTS:

Traffic Regulation. Plantation.
Animal check up camp. Blind assistance.
Medical project .
 
Garments collection.
 
Special coaching classes to the school children . Helping social welfare institution.
Rural on up-liftment. Non-formal education .
Project on environment. Blood donation Camp
Hemoglobin Test.  

SPECIAL PROGRAMME

Workshop on energy conservation Water harvesting.
Improvement of campus.

To give knowledge about Health,hygiene, sanitation, of rural area (Preferably by adapting village within the easy reach of college).
 

BMD, BMI Test. Dental Checkup.
